Fringe too difficult Use strings yarn
This is a cute little penguin that will come in handy if you're working on a Winter theme, Winter animal theme, or Penguins themselves. I've also shown some options for creating a couple of different kinds of penguins like Emperor Penguins and Macaroni Penguins. These are the basic instructions for the penguin...What You'll Need:Toilet paper tube Black and white construction paper Scrap orange construction paper Scissors Glue 2 Wiggle eyes The templates at: www.yoursitesupport.com/public/204.cfm?sd=58What to Do:1. Cover your tube with black construction paper. Print out the template below for the penguin parts.2. Trace the tummy template onto white construction paper and cut out. Trace the wings template onto black construction paper and cut out. Trace the feet and beak onto orange construction paper and cut out.3. Glue the tummy onto the tube so that the flat edge is at the bottom of the tube. 4. Lightly crease the wings and then glue them onto either side of the tummy. Creasing them before you glue them will help them stick out from the body a little.5. Glue on the wiggle eyes and the beak. Fold the feet on the line to create tabs. Glue the tabs to the front inside of the tube so that the feet stick out in front of the penguin. To Create An Emperor Penguin It's really easy to create an Emperor Penguin by simply coloring his belly. I used chalk in the picture above so that the colors would blend easily. Simply color around the outside of the belly with yellow chalk and then put a line of orange next to that. Blend the colors together. You could do the same thing with crayons or watercolor Carpet Yarn paint, but the blending won't be as smooth. Younger children won't care about that a bit. To Create A Macaroni PenguinIt's also a lot of fun to make a Macaroni Penguin. First cut a piece of paper to fit around the inside of the tube. Cut slits in the tube to make a fringe, and then glue it to the inside of the tube. Rough it up to make it look more fuzzy.Fringe too difficult? Use strings, yarn, or even a pom pom to make the crazy hair on the head of a macaroni penguin. By the way, the picture on our site is a little deceiving. Macaroni Penguins are supposed to have a little bit of yellow or orange hair on the outside edges of their top knot -- but this is just too complicated for younger children!

The thickness of yarn
Knitting loom is a kind of prehistoric art that has many kinds of loom shapes like oval, round and rectangular. It has different types.A Knitting loom is a very old art that has been revived recently. It is known by different names such as: frame knitting rake knitting ring knitting box knitting bung knitting spool knitting reel knitting French knitting Loom knitting Knitting in the round Knitting boardDuring the middle ages, looms were used in:- France- Britain- Germany and- Other parts of EuropeThey used it to knit: tasseled caps petticoats shawls blankets stockings bags purses sacks nets hammocks curtainsLooms come in different shapes like:- round- oval and- rectangularSome looms have two rows of pegs, and these are called double rakes. The size of a knit piece depends on the looms size. The gauge or distance of pegs and its size make the size of the knit stitches. The thickness of yarn also contributes to its size.To form knitted fabric, you can use loom. Imagine that the pegs of the loom are pieces of knitting needles. Different methods of wrapping Air Textured Yarn on the pegs make different stitches and patterns. The single rake looms make the knitted fabric possess a distinctive right and wrong sides. The double rake looms are used in making double knitted fabric right at both sides. It is also easy to learn loom knitting. Many people find it simple to use this, unlike knitting needles. Those who have problems with arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome and other ailments enjoy loom knitting.Loom knitting revived again. Perhaps it is because of its fast and easy way of getting into knitting. The three basic types of looms are:1. Round LoomThe most common round looms is the Knifty Knitters. Round looms though called round can be a- circle- triangle- oval- square- heart and many othersThe shape does not matter. What matters is that all of the pegs are unbroken. It must have no starting or stopping point. The measurement of a round loom is determined by the space between the pegs. The further the pegs the larger the gauge. The good thing about round looms is that you can use it for circular knitting. You can also use it for flat panel knitting like a rake. Stitching is the same except for the knitting. With circular, you continuously knit in the same direction for the whole piece. With flat panel, the knitting is back and forth.2. RakeKnitting on a rake is same as knitting on a round loom. The difference is that a rake is a single line and the pegs have beginning and end point. You can do flat knitting using a rake. The distance between the pegs can determine the gauge. To know where you are in a pattern, know how pegs are numbered on the loom. Peg 1 being the first peg to the left of the anchor peg. You are able to identify anchor pegs by looking on the top portion of your circular loom, and it can sometimes be found at the end of the rake. The only anchor peg found on the right also has a counterpart peg, and this is found on the left. Therefore, peg 1 is the first peg to the right above the rake. The number for the succeeding pegs for round looms and rakes continues to the left. Peg 2 follows peg 1 to the left, peg 3 follows peg 2 to the left and so on.3. Knitting BoardThis is a two parallel rake used together to knit across. Knifty Knitters is one of the most common long looms knitting board. These looms serve dual function. It can be a round loom and as a knitting board. To create double-knit fabric, you will need a knitting board. Two different factors will determine the gauge:- distances of pegs- distances of the two rakesThe greater the distance, the larger gauge created. There are different gauges of knitting boards available. Some manufacturers give you the chance to alter the gauge of the knitting board. You can change the distance between the two pegs. In Knifty Knitters, one gauge is available. Also, knitting boards have different knitting sizes for hats, bags, scarves, socks, blankets and many others.

A big ball of yarn would be fun
When my kids came home begging me to get them a cat, I had no idea what to expect or how to care for a cat. Before I relented, I did some research and found out that there are some cat care basics with which I needed to be familiar before we would bring a cat into the home. We had to make decisions about food, litter, cat furniture, toys, fleas, grooming, and vet care. It was not a decision to be taken lightly, but it was one we decided to take on.Here is some of the information I uncovered doing my research before we brought our new cat, Tommy, into our home.Cats need a specific diet. Not all cat foods are good at meeting the natural dietary needs of cats. You would think that if a manufacturer says a food is good for cats, it has to be good for cats. But determining whether or not a food fits the dietary needs of your cat is up to you. The manufacturer is trying to sell his product, so do your homework.Dry foods have different health benefits and drawbacks than canned foods. I didnt know that! Cats dont need a lot of vegetable fillers in their diet. I didnt know that either! Cats need a high-protein, high-animal fat diet. That sounded a bit off until I thought about it. Cats are carnivores in the truest sense of the word. They eat only other animals when they are in their natural habitat. Now I understand why I need to read labels and choose the diet that is best suited to Tommys natural needs.Another area I looked into was what toys are best for a cat. I saw a lot of really cool, colorful, texture-rich toys in the pet store. They would be great! Any cat would have so much fun with such a toy. Not so. Cats are not completely color blind, but they do not make much distinction in colors. A colorful toy has little influence on its attractiveness to a cat.I also thought a big ball of yarn would be fun until I found out that cats can ingest Twisting Yarn and it embeds in the lining of their stomachs. That is not a scenario I wanted to know about personally! The cool crinkly toys I saw have had problems with the crinkly part coming out when the cat plays with it. Again, ingestion of the material can cause serious health risks. I had a lot of things to consider if I was going to have a cat and provide safe, fun toys for him to play with.Do you know how many kinds of cat litter are on the market? Did you know some cats wont use certain types of litter? Some of them are very expensive, and others have a more reasonable price tag, but while some cats enjoy the more expensive, others will only use the cheapest kind of litter. I was getting quite tired just thinking about how many experiments we might have to do if we brought a cat home. How much clean up was I willing to do if the cat didnt like the litter I bought?Cat furniture is another issue I researched. I know cats scratch, and I had heard that declawing is an unpleasant and unnecessary procedure. I wanted to know what my options were and how effective I could be in preserving my furniture and carpets. There is a large variety of options for furniture. There are textures cats prefer, along with structures that they enjoy. I learned that most important was to provide variety in any furniture I chose. I also learned that it is significantly cheaper (though requires an investment of time) to build my own. Finally, I turned my thoughts to the physical health of a cat. I know worms can be a problem for a lot of cats. What I didnt know was how easy they are to treat if you are diligent about keeping up with the general health of the cat. I also learned that there are things you can do to make your cats habitat less conducive to picking up worms. Cleanliness is important in the house as well as the yard! And what about fleas? While fleas can be a problem, and they can cause some other health issues if they get out of control in a cat, they are also a minor problem if you are taking charge of your cats overall health. There are many monthly-use products that keep fleas at bay just by being faithful to giving them to your cat.Ultimately, I learned a lot about taking care of a cat. My kids were asking me almost daily until I gave in and we brought Tommy home. I have been diligent about providing for his needs. He sees the vet on schedule. He has a healthy, protein-rich diet, he has toys that cannot hurt him, and we did finally find a litter he will use! He has quit scratching the furniture, and we are all enjoying having him in our home.Be diligent in your research about cat care basics. If you will pay attention to your cats needs, you will be able to avoid illness, injury, and outrageous vet bills!

Hold the yarn under
Rugs are truly one great invention that is up to now appreciated by all people from all races because it can totally cope to whatever country you bring it. After all most of the countries have their own share of rugs to be proud of. Rug hooking became popular in the 1850s, according to Red Clover Rugs. The original tool used to make hooked rugs is a hook tool similar to the one used in crochet. Advances in rug hooking have created newer and faster tools such as the punch needle and speed hook. Red Clover Rugs also mentions the difference between rug hooking and latch hooking. Latch hooking is slightly different in that it uses a hinged hook to tie short pre-cut strips of Air Textured Yarn to the fabric backing. Deanne Fitzpatrick of Hooking Rugs wrote in an article for Artists Loft that while rug hooking is still a craft, it is also developing into an art. To start doing it you will have to draw your pattern onto a piece of burlap if you do not have pre-patterned burlap. Keep the portion you are working on as tight as possible with an embroidery hoop. The tighter it is, the easier it will be to hook the wool through.Obtain as much wool yarn as you will need to complete the project to ensure color consistency. Hold the yarn under the burlap and push the hook through a hole in the burlap. Pull up the yarn end through the same entry hole in the fabric. Every second or third hole, use the hook to pull the yarn through to make a loop that is 1/4 to 1/3 inch in height. Maintain consistency of height throughout the rug.Hook the end of the yarn through to the front of the burlap and cut it to the same height as the neighboring loops. Continue to follow the pattern until it's done. Sew on black cotton twill tape to the edges to finish the piece. Then you will have to draw your pattern onto the latch hooking material if you do not have one with a pre-printed pattern on it.Obtain as much wool yarn as needed to complete the project. Cut the wool yarn into strips 1/4 to 1/2 inch in length.Make a loop with a strip of yarn and push the latch hook through it. Pass the latch hook through a hole in the latch hook material and bring the hook back up through the neighboring hole. Latch the two ends of the yarn strip and bring the latch hook back out of the entry hole. This will tie the yarn to the material. Then you will have to continue looping and following the pattern until the piece is done. After which you can now truly appreciate how the rug would look like after all it is your design and you will surely find it beautiful and elegant since you have put all your sweat to create such rugs thus you will really be proud.
